he 15th Oniru of Iruland, HRM Oba Abdulwasiu Omogbolahan Lawal held his coronation on Sunday, 6th September,2020 amidst tight security and COVID-19 precautions.
The event which held at the Oniru palace in Lagos had the governor of Lagos, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu in attendance to present the staff of office to the new Oba.
Everyone at the event observed physical distancing as well as wearing face masks. At every point, hand sanitisers were applied by each attendant while the required 3-meter sitting distance was also observed.
The event opened with Yoruba chants by veteran Nollywood actor, Ajobiewe and fully supported by Ayo Ewebiyi.
As at 9:00 am, the entire palace vicinity had been flood with men of the Nigerian Police, LASTMA officials and other security details.
Also spotted at the event amongst several other dignitaries is the speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Hon Idowu Obasa.
