Katsina Police Blames Sharia Judge For Being Kidnapped

On Wednesday, the unfortunate incident of the abduction of a Sharia court judge, Alhaji Husaini Ismaila who was kidnapped from his former office, while disregarding the ongoing JUSUN strike was reported.

The Sharia judge who was reportedly seen around 3pm in his former office located at Baure-Zaka village of Safana LGA was eventually whisked away to the forest by notorious bandits terrorising the area.

The spokesman, Katsina State police command, SP. Isah Gambo, while confirming the incident described Alkali Husaini’s visit to the court premises as “uncalled for” as he could not understand what the Sharia judge was looking for at the old court premises at that time, considering the ongoing JUSUN strike.

The police spokesman who said investigation into the matter is ongoing, blamed Alkali Husaini Ismaila for his kidnap and for failing to seek security coverage for whatever that took him to the former office, knowing the volatile nature of banditry attack in the community where the court is situated.

‘’Police is investigating the judge’s actions to unravel the truth.

“Why was he there when courts are on strike? Where were his police escorts? Why did he not ask for security coverage knowing fully well that particular court is around the forest?” The spokesman queried.
