Alleged Murder: Suspected UNILAG Student, Chidinma Narrates Her Side of the Story

Footage has emerged showing Chidinma Ojukwu, the University of Lagos (UNILAG) student who stabbed Usifo Ataga, Super TV CEO, was teased about the media popularity before the incident.

Ataga was found in a pool of his blood after he was stabbed to death, with multiple wounds found on his body.

Hakeem Odumosu, the state commissioner of police, on Tuesday, confirmed the arrest of Chidinma, a 300-level Mass Communication student, who happens to be the prime suspect.

Chidinma, who was paraded at the state police command, had narrated the squabble that led to Ataga’s death.

She alleged that the businessman had forcefully had sex with her the first time but a dispute ensued after he attempted it again.

Sources told TheCable Lifestyle that Chidinma runs a part-time programme at the varsity, taking evening classes.

But on Friday, a video surfaced on social media showing the 21-year-old engaging with two male companions at what appears to be her shop. The undergraduate was then teased about her featuring on Arise TV, the broadcaster.

Another CCTV footage also surfaced online, capturing the duo’s silhouette while they hung out at a restaurant.

Chidinma’s father was also apprehended over his alleged attempt to resist her arrest at their Yaba home on Wednesday.

In her account of the incident, Chidinma had said: “I was like, ‘You don’t help me, you don’t assist me with anything, you are just playing with me around’.

“He was like, ‘Take my ATM and withdraw what you want'. He later became violent trying to get to me and I was resisting and defending myself. At some point, he hit my head on the wall and I also retaliated.

“At some point, he was chasing me around the kitchen cabinet. I took a knife and stabbed his neck. I approached the door and he followed me. I stabbed him twice on the neck side.

“I threw the knife to the bed and he was going for it but I also went for it. He dragged the knife with me and it broke and he fell on the floor.”
