AENON
SUITES OSOGBO HOSTS PRE-BIRTHDAY DINNER
The
party started with a dinner reception that held at the prestigious Aenon
Suites, one of the biggest hotels in Osogbo. It was a poolside party that had
friends, family and close associates in attendance. Call it a non-formal
relaxation dinner and you will not be wrong in anyway. At about 7:00 pm on the
New Year day, the venue was practically filled up with friends, family, close
associates and loved ones. It was a casual evening so there was no hype of
seriousness in the dress pattern. However, there was more than enough to eat
and drink and the entertainment was maximum.
On
the bandstand was a fast-rising live band singer, Segun Adeyemi popularly known
as ‘composer’ and his band boys. Segun thrilled with different genres of music,
from Orlando Owo brand of highlife to Victor Olaiya and Fatai Rolling Dollar’s
oldies down to contemporary and current trends, his performance was highly
rated. Asiwaju Segun Compo, started out as a chorister in his church, Celestial
Church of Christ, Ibadan, Oyo State. Having been apprenticed to two renowned
Juju musicians for some years, he launched his professional career in 1999.
Today, he has over 10 albums to his credit.
MRS
KEMI ADEWUMI, ENGR VICTOR’S WIFE SURPRISES HUSBAND
Being
the smart man that he is, Engr. Adewumi is usually on guard and he is rarely
caught unaware or surprised but the story was quite different on the day he
clocked 60. At about 7:00 am, band boys, a Lagos based traditional chanter and
photographers were waiting for the arrival of the birthday boy from his
bedroom. His wife, children and very close friends and family members, as well as close associates, were also there waiting for him. The lights were and the
sound of a trumpet and drums welcomed the celebrant as he entered into the
cheers of his loved ones. It was a beautiful and emotional moment. Mrs Kemi
Adewumi was moved to tears seeing her husband hale and hearty, strong and agile
and very active too.
CELEBRANT
AND WIFE STUN IN TRADITIONAL ASO-OFI
Being
a Prince with a core value for the African and Nigerian tradition, Engr. Victor
Adewumi’s outfit on his 60th birthday was a traditional Aso-Ofi. It is not
quite easy to come by in these modern days and very expensive too. The outfit
was a combination of magenta, navy and sky blue. The smart engineer is not only
brilliant, he is also a fashionista. He made fashion statements with his first
and second outfits.
AURORA
EVENT CENTER HOSTS GRAND RECEPTION
As
the day was gradually hitting the peak, the event was equally getting to its
epoch. All roads led to the Aurora Event Center which is situated at the heart
of Osogbo. On getting to the venue, the car park had been completely taken
over by luxury and choice vehicles. An entry into the auditorium already gave
one an idea of what the event was set to unveil. The décor was absolutely
classy. It didn’t only speak of luxury but also quality taste.
Anyone
who is familiar with Aurora would know that it is such a large venue and well
built with proper ventilation in mind; it was transformed into a haven. Many of
the guests were left with their jaws widely opened when they saw the beauty
that was created inside the auditorium. You would wish to attend such an owambe every day if you were there.
EKITI
TRADITIONAL DANCERS WELCOMES THE CELEBRANT
At
his grand arrival, Engr. Gbadebo and his wife were welcomed by the traditional
tunes oozing from the band that came all the way from Ijesa Isu-Ekiti. Those
who didn’t know the celebrant too well were amazed at his dance steps. Engr
Adewumi is indeed a son of the soil who has not forgotten his source even after
achieving successes in all spheres of life.
DJ
NIFTY ON THE WHEEL OF STEEL
DJ
Nifty’s career started through his passion for music. He would mix his favourite
records together for himself & for friends, way back at the beginning of
the ‘90s. By chance, a promoter got hold of one of these tapes & liked it
so much he gave him his first gig. Needless to say, he didn’t disappoint! He
became the life of the party at the event. After the live band had come and
gone, DJ Nifty was there for the after party. The young guns at the event had
maximum fun. Engr. Adewunmi’s diamond celebration would remain a story that
would be told for a very long time in Osogbo.
OSOGBO

While
people were trooping out of Lagos and other major cities in Nigeria to
celebrate with their families in the remote areas of the country, the opposite
was the case with Osogbo. All the major hotels were completely booked and fully
occupied. Let us be the first to tell you that people came from all the 36
states of the country as well as the FCT. They were all recognized by the MC

represent.

may not be a regular face but fast-rising compere, Muyiwa Adigun is a man you
would want behind the microphone anytime you have a public function. He was the icing on the near-perfect event. His comic reliefs left the guests laughing
from the beginning to the end of the show. Unlike some other fast-rising
talents that seem to overdo things, Adigun was apt with everything he did at
the event and his jokes were fresh from the oven.

knowledge of the celebrant, having mentored him. He said a few things and most
personal experiences he’s had with Engr. Adewumi and thanked God on his behalf
for making him sail through some mighty storms of life.
FUJIMUSICOLOGIST

Versatile
fast-rising recording artiste, Femi Abiola popularly known as Fujicologist was
on the bandstand. He is not just popular at events alone; he has a strong
follower base on Instagram and Facebook.
Fujicologist
stormed the event with a full band and he did a very good job. He practically
thrilled from dawn to dusk and he was the better for it. He got all the benefits
a good live band singer gets after delivering a good show at an event that is
as big as this one. Femi Abiola and his Fujicologist PS Crew rolled out with a
brand new enchanting number titled, “Palliative Gbedu Fresh 2021” and it is
still trending as we speak.
EX-GOV,
OLAGUNSOYE OYINLOLA, APC NATIONAL AUDITOR, PRINCE ADEMOLA DADA SPOTTED

we told you that the event was attended by the high and mighty of society, it
wasn’t a joke. As the event was nearing its peak, the former military
administrator of Lagos State and Ex-Governor of Osun State, Prince Olagunsoye
Oyinlola majestically walked into the auditorium and was immediately spotted by
the eagle lens of City People Magazine. He didn’t come alone, he was in the
company of the former president of the popular Island Club of Lagos who is now
the national auditor of the ruling All Progressives Congress APC, Prince
Ademola Dada. They are apparently very close friends of the celebrant. On
spotting the duo, Engr Adewumi left his highly exalted seat to exchange
pleasantries with them. They had a brief chat, took photographs together before
the party continued.
ENGR.
ADEWALE ADELEKE DID WELL
One
of the strong pillars of support at the event was Engr. Adewale Adeleke. He was
practically everywhere making sure that all the guests were well catered to. He
