Why Osas Ighodaro Is The Queen of Cinema Movies



The multiple award-winning superstar, Osas Ighodaro, is one of the most celebrated actresses in the movie industry. What really makes her different from her contemporaries in the industry, is the fact that she is highly rooted in stage performance, besides her talents in interpreting roles beautifully in movies.

She is deeply rooted in the creative business. She studied Broadcast Journalism with dual minors in entrepreneurship and theatre. She also holds a master in Fine Arts from the Actors Studio Drama School at Pace University. She auditioned and was selected for the cast of Tinsel. As a result, she moved to Nigeria with the hope of staying for a few months but she eventually fell in love with the Nigerian entertainment industry.

After Tinsel, Osas continued to thrive in the movie industry and she started featuring in several theatre productions such as Coloured Museum, Revenge Of A King, How Sweet and so many others. She also starred alongside A-list stars in the movie industry.

She didn’t stop at just appearing on-stage performances and featuring in movies, she also hosted several shows and awards.

One particular thing that also stood her out amongst her contemporaries was her accent, after her long stay in the US, this gave her a good command of English and her carriage is another thing a lot admire about her. Above the talents and versatility. She remains one of the finest actresses in the industry with a body to die for. She is very curvy and her fashion sense is also topnotch. Many were not surprised when she emerged the best dressed at the just concluded AMVCA 2022. She is the true definition of what many call “Beauty And Brains”.

Osas is currently called the Queen of Cinema, as she features more in cinema movies, and is one of the top faces trending on movies showing on Netflix. Many were also not surprised when she emerged the Best Actress In Drama or Series in the just concluded AMVCA. She has become a force to reckon with in the industry, and a lot of producers are so impressed with her skills and talents that they will always love to feature her in their movies.

She joined the Nigerian movie industry in 2005 and has featured in award-winning movies like New Money, King Of Boys, Merrymen, We Don’t Live Here Anymore, The Bling Lagos, Put A Ring On It, Gbomo Gbomo, Express, The Rattle Snake which won her several awards and a host of others.

For many who don’t know much about her, she was born in Bronx, New York, USA, to Nigerian parents, who hail from Edo State, she had her primary and secondary education in Bronx, New York.

In the course of her career, she was unveiled as the ambassador for popular luxury store Polo Avenue, she became a brand ambassador for Tremendos, a platform designed to give people medical needs and access to doctors at their convenience.

She has equally influenced and endorsed reputable brands in Nigeria.
