What Many Don't Know About Queen Bunmi AJIBADE a.k.a MAMA MILIKI



Queen Bunmi AJIBADE a.k.a MAMA MILIKI was born into the ABODERIN and GBOLARUMI Family in Ibadan, Oyo State, Nigeria. She was brought up by her Grandmother, Madam OTOLORIN ABEKE OLOWU (Nee Layode). Grandma was a Sewing mistress and Woman Leader for the defunct ACTION GROUP (AG) in Ibadan, Western region. Elizabeth was the name given to her by Grandma, she was first called OBA ILU EBO by the then Western Region leader, Chief Obafemi Awolowo. Her father and mother were accountants by profession with UAC, sadly, they are both late. The late Justices Atinuke Ige was also her godmother who supported her political career.

Education

She had her primary education straight from St Theresa Primary School, Oke-Ado in Ibadan. She proceeded to Lagos. St Patrick Primary School, Yaba, Lagos, Nigeria. Secondary school National College Bariga, Our Lady of Apostle Yaba Lagos. Later to Alamuwa  Grammar School, Ado-Odo, in Yewa Egbado, Ogun State. She later proceeded to Queen Amina Secondary School in Kaduna State for her HSC. Afterwards, she attended the School of Aviation at Adeniyi Jones, Ikeja, Lagos. British Caledonia School of Aviation in London, KLM School of Aviation in Amsterdam etc. Before she took a degree Course in Guardian and  Counseling at Ogun State University ( now Olabisi Onabanjo University ) Where she was honoured with a bachelor in Science (BSc).  

POLITICAL CAREER

OBA ILU EBO  Followed her Grandma to Chief Obafemi Awolowo's house, in Oke-Bola when she was young and had since then supported the Action Group (AG) and Unity Party of Nigeria (UPN). In the late 70s, she was TENNIS Player for Kaduna State and was living in Government House, Governor BALARABE MUSA of blessed memory. She came back to her uncle in Lagos, Chief J S Olawoyin Kwara State Governor candidate in the 1979 general election in Nigeria gave her a letter to be his ( PA). Following this, she became the Ward F3 Woman Leader of Oshodi - Isolo L/G in 1999 Under the People’s Democratic Party (PDP). By 2003 She had risen to the position of the LGA Woman Leader in Oshodi-Isolo. The very year, she was nominated as the Lagos state Co-ordinator of the Grand Alliance of Nigeria (GAN) An umbrella body of all camping groups for (PDP) in 2003 which was formed by the President of the federal republic of Nigeria: Chief Olusegun Obasanjo. Out of 36 states we have in Nigeria I was the only Female. President of National Grass Root of Nigeria. Oyo State. From the First Lady of Nigeria: Chief Mrs Stella Obasanjo in 2003. 2006 She became the National Woman Leader of Nigeria (GAN). She is the DIRECT GENERAL of EMILOKAN ENTERTAINMENT FOR GOOD GOVERNANCE Support for Asiwaju Bola Tinubu and also Vice Coordinator/Woman Leader of Tinubu Support Organizations found by Hon Aminu Sulaiman in Nigeria.

SPORTS CAREER               

In addition to the achievements mentioned earlier, she Started her sports when she was in primary 4. With Table Tennis at Row park. Later she joined Lawn Tennis, Started playing for Shomolu LG  then State . she was a Gold Medallist and Sports enthusiast. Lagos State, Ogun State, Kaduna State, and Kano State and she represented Nigeria. In 1992 She Won Gold Medal in the First Nestle Tennis Tournament. She was sponsored for 2 years. In the first term of Governor Babatunde Fashola, she was recognized as one of the Gold Medalists in Lagos State. Member of the Kung-Fu  Association of Nigeria, She rose to become the First Vice-chairman when the chairman died she became the First Female Chairman of the Association. One of the Female referees of Kung-Fu, She was the first matron of combat Sport given to her by the Nigerian police. She was made an official certified referee for Kun-Fu and officiated in 2014 in the Police Sports Festival in Port Harcourt, River State.

MUSIC CAREER

Talents also extended to the Entertainment world. She began her music career in primary school and at Chief Obafemi Awolowo's House in Ibadan. Later as a backup artist for Chief Commander Ebenezer Obey and thereafter became PRO of the band. She had her own band after a Festival in 1977 called Queen Olubunmi and her band. Mama Miliki brought a new flavour into juju music with a touch of juju maestro Chief Ebenezer obey's style in instrumentality and vocal renditions. Her past role as PRO for My Baba Obey's band inspired her interest in music. She had show business tutelage under some late music and show business icons such as King Suny Ade, Chief Adeyemi Afolayan  Ade Love, My Big  Brother Art Alade, Yomi Taiwo, Bode Ogundimu aka Swing pawpaw, etc. When she came to AMERICA she participated in some festivals, one of them being the African Festival in Chicago. Queen Bunmi and Chief Ebenezer obey had played together on the stage. This was also in Chicago USA.        

SPECIAL RECOGNITION    

In Nigeria she was given more than 10 Awards, In the year 2013 Queen Bunmi, was paraded in London on New Year's Day where she was Specifically recognized by the Queen of England, the late Queen Elizabeth II. She took another Special recognition for her performance in Houston Texas USA, Abia Awards, and more than 5 Awards in Chicago. Glory be to God.
