Gov Seyi Makinde, Bukola Saraki, Other PDP Chieftains Meet In Ibadan

Bukola Saraki, Chairman, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) National Reconciliation Committee; Liyel Imoke, former Governor of Cross River; Chief Anyim Pius Anyim, former Senate President; among others, held a brief closed-door meeting with Governor Seyi Makinde in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital, on Tuesday.

The meeting, which lasted less than 30 minutes, was held at the courtesy room of the Governor’s office.

Speaking with journalists immediately after the meeting, Makinde said that newsmen would be briefed at the end of the elaborate meeting scheduled to hold at the Government House later in the day.

NAN reports that the committee was in Ibadan to meet factional leaders of the party on ways to resolve the lingering crisis rocking the party in the state.

Recall that Saraki, immediate past Senate President, was recently invited for questioning over allegations of corruption and money laundering by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

EFCC spokesperson, Wilson Uwujaren, had confirmed that Saraki was in the commission’s custody for continuation of interrogation.
