Buhari Arrives Imo Amidst IPOB's Sit-At-Home Order

President Muhammadu Buhari has arrived in Imo state.

The president’s visit comes amid the sit-at-home order issued by the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) to Imo residents.

His aircraft touched down at Sam Mbakwe cargo airport, Owerri, the state capital, about 9:00 am on Thursday.

The president was received by David Umahi, chairman of the South-east Governors’ Forum, and Hope Uzodimma, Imo governor.

Buhari is expected to inaugurate some projects in the state during his visit.

In a Facebook post, Uzodimma said the residents of Imo are happy to have the president visit the state.

“It is with a heart full of gratitude that I, on behalf of the good people of Imo State, welcome His Excellency President Muhammadu Buhari GCFR to the Eastern Heartland on a working visit to commission some of our completed people-oriented projects,” he said.

“Mr President, we are delighted to have you in Imo State on this august occasion despite your tight schedules and it’s our pleasure that while in Imo state, you will enjoy the hospitality and conviviality of our people.”
