Hon. Bosun Oladele is the National Secretary of SWAGA. He is one o the leaders of the South-West Agenda (SWAGA) 2023. For the past one year or so, he and his fellow politicians have been creating much-needed awareness across the South West for the candidacy of Asiwaju Bola Tinubu come to 2023 Presidency.

This successful Lagos lawyer is a seasoned politician who has served in many capacities before now. He was once Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Oyo State from August 2011 to November 2012. He was voted the “Best Commissioner for Information in Oyo State” by NUJ Oyo State Chapter in 2012. Before then, between 2003-2005, he was Oyo State Legal Adviser for AD Alliance for Democracy. In 2016 he bagged F, Edu, MA from the Chartered Institute of Educational Management and Administration (CIEMA) where he is a Fellow; He did an MBA with the Robert Kennedy College Zurich, Switzerland. How does he see the political situation in the country right now, as we begin a new year that will lead to the ushering in of democracy "yes, you are right? 2022 is going to be a defining year politically for most of the gladiators.

It will start from the Ekiti elections, Osun elections and build up to the General elections in early 2023. All the i's must be dotted, every goal must be set and moves must be made towards achieving those goals".

"As you can see the climate is already in a sort of frenzy. There are moves by gladiators and people who are also seeking to faster their nests, as political followers, who are running around to see where their interests will be protected.

The genuine ones are working. The pretenders are also busy. Definitely, whatever we do, presidential candidates will emerge this year, Governorship candidates will emerge, candidates will emerge for most of the positions to be contested for this year.

“For me and those of us who belong to where we belong politically, SWAGA 2023 we know that our workload has increased. Politically, 2022 is going to be a busy year”.

At what stage is SWAGA now, we asked him. “SWAGA has completed the state runs. It has been inaugurated in a member of states in the South West, Nigeria, in all the states virtually. We started in Ibadan. We have been to Ogun. We have been to Osun. We have been to Ondo. We have been to Ekiti. We came back to Lagos. And after that, we went back to Osun again. This time around, we are concentrating on Federal Constituency and local government inauguration. We have done Ogun State. Ekiti has finished its local government inauguration. Ondo & Oyo will start very soon. So it is a work in progress for us until the elections are held. When we finish that we will go to Ward By Ward level and then we will go to Polling Station level. We have our feedback system. We have our network within the state. We get feedbacks even up to the minutest area, the remotest area. We have people who feed us back on the activities of the group. I will say in retrospect, that SWAGA has surpassed our expectations. But that is not to say work is done. Work is not done. As a matter of fact, we are just about starting”.

All the members of SWAGA, especially the leadership, seem to be convinced that Asiwaju Bola Tinubu is the man, the rallying point around which they all gravitate. How easy was it, convincing people to buy into the Asiwaju brand?

“It is because Asiwaju is a good product. Hardly would you have to advertise that. They know what he stands for. They know what he has done in the recent past. They know what he can do. He is for everybody: the young, the old, the men, the women. As a matter of fact, a lot of our mothers are all in full support of him. And it is so easy to understand why.

The female gender is closer to people that have empathy for others, people that have mentored others.

Although Tinubu is a good product that needs no marketing, SWAGA has been actively marketing Tinubu. We keep extolling the virtues and good qualities that Asiwaju has. What we have been doing is to go round to tell people what this man stands for, what he has done and we are always excited when we see their faces brightening up. The response we always get is really? You mean he has done all these?

My experience in SWAGA has shown that really, a lot has been done by Asiwaju Tinubu. There are a lot of positive sides to him and people have not really followed that, they are not aware. SWAGA has afforded us the opportunity of extolling the virtues of educating the people about his antecedents, and character, about his personae, (personality), kindness and political philosophy and what he has done in the past. We are not saying if you vote for him, he will do this, he will do that. We are saying that there is enough that he has done in the past, which we can actually market him to the people. Each time we tell them about the real Asiwaju and what he has done what you hear from them is so why are there some people opposing him in respect of this Presidency. He should be the one jare. We support him. They will say if he has done this in Lagos if he has done it for other states if he has mentored so many people if he has discovered this talent and that talent and exposed them to leadership, then let him come and do it for others, on a larger scale, nationally. So, the good work he has done has made it easy for us to talk to people about him.

It has made it easy to preach the gospel of Asiwaju Tinubu as the next President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
