We can tell you about this beautiful party that took place on Sunday, 20th
March 2022. It was a big day for US-based Alhaja Adetutu Ashake Soyebo as her
husband, children, family members, loved ones and committee of friends from the
United States of America rallied around her. It was the day she marked her
diamond jubilee. Clocking 60 is a big deal right now because a lot of people
don’t live up to that and many are not even healthy at the age of 60.
Therefore, AAS as she is fondly called has a lot of reasons to be grateful and
she was indeed judging by the way she celebrated.
The
Classique Event Centre on Kudirat Abiola Way, Oregun, in Lagos was painted Yellow for this woman of
style. Men and women of timber and calibre left their worship centres early
enough to storm one of the most talked-about birthday parties in Lagos.
Everything needed to hold a classy birthday bash was supplied in excess. Talk
about the food, drinks, class, organisation, people and much more, a serene and
conducive environment; all was in order and the party just flowed like a river.

The Choice Venue
There couldn’t have
been a better venue on the mainland for the party of such a magnitude than the
Classique Event Center on Kudirat Abiola Way, Alausa-Ikeja. The venue had all
it takes to make the party grand. Starting with the spacious car park, to the
gents, stage, space and ambience, the venue was a point of attraction. It was
easy to locate and driving in and out wasn’t a problem for most guests. This
probably was one of the reasons the party had a large turnout of A-list guests.
The main hall was filled to capacity, as many guests flew in from the U.S,
London & Canada to honour the celebrant & her hubby.
Seamless
Events Made A Huge Statement
One thing that anyone
couldn’t take away was the fact that the event was well organized and
coordinated. It was planned by Seamless Events, a popular brand in the Lagos
party business. Olajumoke Adekoya, the beautiful ebony-complexioned CEO of
Seamless Events was on her feet throughout, coordinating the party. She did an
excellent job of decorating and planning the party. She is passionate about
creating memorable and timeless events.
It
Was A Yellow Affair
Whoever chose the
colour of the day must be very smart and thoughtful. This is because the event
was very bright and colourful as a result of the Aso-Ebi and the colour of the
day. Society men and women were dressed in classy yellow dresses. Over 500
beautifully dressed celebrity women stormed the party in Yellow outfits, to
celebrate with AAS @ 60. From HOH to Dry Lace and other expensive materials,
the women turned up big time and in style for one of their own. The men were
not left out as well. Popular men in society graced the occasion. And most of
them came in white agbada with a touch of a yellow cap to match the colour of the
day.
DJ
Shadow Was Present All Through
The first sound the
early comers heard on entering the venue was that of DJ Shadow’s… He started
entertaining guests from the word go and didn’t stop until very late in the
night. He is surely a master of his craft. DJ Shadow was on the wheel of steel,
supplying cool music. Everyone had great fun, so much so that at 10.30pm,
guests were still dancing to the latest hits of Zazu & other hip hop tunes
from the stable of DJ Shadow. The after-party was till Mama called.
MC
Murphy Talked, Sang & Joked
There was a super blend
of fun and entertainment from the compere who proved that experience is not
bought with money. Popular radio host, Wole Sorunke also known as MC Murphy
anchored the event. He sang, danced and dropped a few jokes that met the
celebrant and her guests well. In all, MC Murphy was the best man for the job,
judging by his delivery. He added spices to the already glorious day for AAS @
60
Remmy
Chanter Takes AAS Back To Her Root
Special days like this
would be incomplete without taking the celebrant back to her root. And for some
like Alhaja Adetutu Soyebo, it was very needful because she has spent the
greater parts of her days in Chicago, US. A finding by City People revealed
that the children of the celebrant were the ones that contracted this super
talented panegyric singer to celebrate, praise-sing and entertain their mother
as well as her guests as she clocks 60. It was a mixture of fun and
entertainment when Remilakun Mariam Kasali also known as Remmy Chanter took
over the stage. The friends of the celebrant joined her on stage for the
traditional dance session.

Husband Went Romantic On Stage
The celebrant’s
husband, Alhaji Adekunle Wasiu Soyebo was on his feet throughout the event,
making sure everybody was okay. He was so busy throughout. He showed his wife, undying love, when he was called upon to speak about the celebrant. He
congratulated his wife and attributed the success of their marriage to his
wife, who he said has always been calm and accommodating of his excesses, over
the years. His wife who was obviously touched by his kind words stepped forward
to embrace him, as he also moved towards her to do the same.
He received a loud
cheer and clapping ovation from the guests when he publicly went down on his
knees to apologise to his wife for all his misdeeds in the past. Many of the
women at the event adjudged him to be very romantic and soft-hearted.
The
Faith Music Band Boss Led The Show
On the bandstand was the
Faith music band, led by the tall and handsome leader of the band, Ayo Ajekigbe. He thrilled guests and made all
the celebrities to be on their feet, all through dancing, as he dished out
melodious tunes, from Juju to Gospel to Hip Hop. He is no doubt a talented
musician. It is a known fact that the Band leader doesn’t attend any kind of
event because of his very tight and busy schedule. But on the day AAS
celebrated her 60th, it was on record that he personally came to thrill the
guests with his full band boys.
Celebrant’s
Fashion Style Revealed
Let’s be the first to
tell you that the celebrant is so such a fashionista. She broke a record at her
event after changing into four different outfits on her big day! Yes, for
different classy and expensive wears. She looked very glamorous each time she
changed into her outfits. Her first outfit was a purple head tie (gele) and
grey colour HOH lace, the second was a navy blue and purple HOH lace with
another purple head tile, while her third was a blend of emerald and purple HOH
lace with emerald gele to match it. The last outfit which was a lovely evening
wear was what she wore for the disco session of the party.

Men From Naija and Abroad Came Through
Apart from her friends
who rallied around the celebrant, her husband also attracted his own quality
guests. Distinguished members of the Lagos Lawn Tennis Club stormed the party
with its Exco members. The current President and past Presidents were also
there. Kunle Soyebo is a valued member of the club. They were not the only ones
who came. Members of UpAsso also attended. They sat together at the same table
and wore similar caps. The team was led by Dr Adetokunbo Adedeji, the Club’s
President. Some veteran journalists like Bisi Olatilo of BOS TV and Seye
Kehinde, the publisher of City People Magazine were also spotted.

Ninalowo Led Other Society Women At The Party
There was an array of
many beautifully dressed celebrity women at the party. They all came to
celebrate with Tutu Soyebo @ 60. All of them commended the celebrant as being a
nice woman, who is selfless and is always there for all her friends. They all
looked gorgeously attired for the party from head to toe. The main hall was
filled to capacity, as many guests flew in from the U.S, London & Canada to
honour the celebrant & her hubby. Spotted among many others were Alhaja
Iyabo Ninalowo, Remi Olatunde, Busola Okulaja, Erelu Olubukola Badipe, Yeye Oge
Fao among several others.
Celebrant’s
Aged Parents Came Through
The parents of the
celebrant were brought to the limelight during the cutting of the cake. MC
Murphy announced that they were present at the party and he called them to the
podium for a photo session with their beautiful daughter and her lovely
husband. The father of the celebrant is 90 years old while her mum is 85. They
are both still very active in their old age. They expressed a lot of delight at
the fact that their daughter is celebrating such a milestone during their
lifetime.
