This is a moment of joy for all Redeemed Christian Church of God members across the world, as the headquarters of the church in Ebute Metta, Lagos is set to be reconstructed. The old building which has been in existence for many decades no longer befits the image and what the church stands for.
The
new headquarters named RCCG Coastline Worship Centre is a modern building of 17
floors at 1 -9, Redemption Way, Ebute-Metta (East), Oyingbo · Lagos, Nigeria.
A
few weeks back, The General Overseer, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, revealed that the construction
of the new headquarters would be done within 24 months and work has begun
“It
gives me great pleasure to inform you that work on RCCG Coastline Worship
Centre has begun. It is exciting because we are building an edifice for the
LORD our God and the Master of the Universe, Jesus Christ our Saviour and our
Redeemer, let somebody shout Halleluyah !!!"
The
RCCG COASTLINE WORSHIP CENTRE is a unique and innovative masterpiece located in
the heart of the fast-growing and developing coastal centre of Ebutte-Meta,
Lagos. It will consist of a tower with 17 floors, a multilevel car pack and a
jetty with a capacity to dock 16 boats. The Coastline Worship Centre is a 21st
Century style structure designed with special features such as; a helipad,
world-class auditorium and conference centre, elevator, a medical centre and
facilities, a shopping centre, banking halls amongst other features and
facilities which will improve the social, health and economic activities within
the Ebutte-Meta Coastline area.
While
the G.O was speaking about the project, he revealed that when people come from
abroad to visit us and they ask sir, where is the headquarters of RCCG? I
always have a way of saying it’s in Lagos and I would change the topic. I
change the topic because I don’t want to bring them here because I know what
their headquarters look like when I see it abroad. But by the grace of God, 24
months now; even if they don’t ask where’s your headquarters, I would bring
them here. And if you look at the drawing very well, there’s a helipad there.
Expressway won’t cause us trouble. How many of you will be around at that time?
It does not matter what the devil may try, we would all live to see the
dedication of the church. I want to appeal to you that you should go out of
your way to contribute to the building of this headquarters cathedral. Go out
of your way."
"We’ve
been in this journey for quite some time. But to get the government to give us
approval; we have been fighting the battle for more than 13 years. You won’t
believe it! One governor after another, after another. And people keep on
saying, but Daddy ‘these governors are your children, yes they are my children
but somehow, but of course, I realise it’s not they. I blame the one who didn’t
want us to get it. It’s not a human being. So today is the day of victory. But
the greater day of victory would be the day when the building would be
dedicated. That day we would close all churches.
I
have asked my God to help me in this project. I look at the drawing. I don’t
need to be told that it is going to cost a lot of money but I told my daddy in
heaven you have to help me. Myself and my family one way or the other, we would
be responsible for 10 per cent of the cost. That Is the type of commitment I
want from you all. And we want this thing (project) done in 24 months. If
permission (approval) had come on time because we get permission from one
fellow today and would say go to one local council. We went everywhere. If
permission had been granted early, I would have loved the dedication of this
place to take place on my 80th birthday but with permission just coming now, we
would wait 24 months and you will all be here. No one would die”.
The
Throne of Grace, which is the National Headquarters of the RCCG is the mother
church to all branches of the RCCG all over the world.
The
history of the church is well known, from the time of the founder Pa Josiah
Akindayomi who started with a house fellowship of twelve people at No. 9,
Willoughby Street, Ebute-Metta, Lagos, South-West Nigeria, the church by the
mercy and grace of God has grown phenomenally with branches in over 190
countries/territories of the world today.
This
groundbreaking of the new National Headquarters is another milestone in the
divinely directed journey of the RCCG and it is envisioned to attract God’s end-time army of youths who are empowered and equipped to fly, deploying the best
technology available, to take soul-winning to a new level. It will also serve
as a sanctuary of intense prayers in accordance with Matthew 21:13 for God to
attend to those who pray to him concerning their personal needs, for Nigeria
and all other nations of the world.
At
the groundbreaking ceremony of this project on 3rd January 2021, the RCCG G.
O and father in the Lord, Pastor E. A. Adeboye directed that the project should
be completed within twenty-four (24) months. This, he believes can be achieved
by God’s divine provisions through you.
